Archbishop Donald Wuerl announced this week announced the retirement of four priests, the appointment of three new pastors, the reassignment of seven pastors, and 12 other priestly appointments.

The priest changes - all of which are effective July 1 - are as follows:

New pastors:

Father David H. Werning, to pastor of Our Lady of Victory Parish, Washington; from parochial administrator of Our Lady of Victory Parish, Washington,

Father Peter M. Giovanoni, to pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, Washington; from chaplain to Catholic students and faculty of George Washington University with residence at St. Stephen, Martyr Parish, Washington.

Father Robert W. Golas, to pastor of St. Mary, Star of the Sea Parish, Indian Head; from parochial vicar at St. Bernadette Parish, Silver Spring, .
